Corea and Fairbanks, AK, artist Margo Klass will lead participants through the creation of a Coptic Bound Flitch Book, a small, chunky, finely crafted treasure – book with smoothly sanded flitches as covers, spines edged with twigs, and cover embellishments of bone, stone, and twig. Each flitch, defined as a slab cut vertically from a log of wood, is unique. Traditional Coptic binding, with its characteristic woven patterns visible across the spine, will complete each book.
