Each year Rosemary designs, creates and contributes a “bridge rug” for the Friends of Acadia annual benefit auction. She conceived of the project, to hook the seventeen stone bridges designed for Acadia National Parks carriage-road system, when looking for a way to support the FOA mission of preserving, protecting, and promoting stewardship of the outstanding natural beauty, ecological vitality, and distinctive cultural resources of Acadia National Park and surrounding communities for the inspiration and enjoyment of current and future generations. Rosemary's idea was to

visit and hook the structures in the order they were designed and built. Begun in the winter of 2004, when she and Garry hiked to Cobblestone Bridge, the first built, in 1917, Rosemary’s interpretations of the bridges are original designs created on monks cloth with 100% wool Rosemary hand dyes in her studio at Chapter Two.
